Building on the June Inclusion/SEN Forum’s exploration of inclusion bases, adaptive teaching and curriculum access, this session will focus on the new DfE expectations for schools’ Inclusion Strategies.
Colleagues will explore the Inclusive Mainstream Fund, the DfE’s seven principles of inclusion and the requirement for schools to publish an Inclusion Strategy by 31st December 2026.
The session will also draw upon the Education Endowment Foundation’s new Guide to Inclusive Teaching and Promising Programmes resource. Participants will consider how schools can use evidence to strengthen universal provision, select appropriate adaptations and targeted support, and evaluate their impact on pupils’ learning and participation.
There will be opportunities for colleagues to share practice, examine commonly occurring barriers within their school cohorts and begin developing evidence-informed priorities for their Inclusion Strategies.
