Teaching assistants make important decisions throughout every lesson. When a pupil is stuck, should you give them more thinking time, repeat the instruction, provide a clue, show them an example, change the task or give them the answer?
This network meeting will draw upon the Education Endowment Foundation’s latest guidance to explore how the support TAs provide can help pupils learn and become more independent.
Using practical classroom examples, colleagues will explore:
The session will provide a practical approach that TAs can use during lessons, alongside opportunities to discuss real situations, share effective practice and identify something to try within their own setting.
